How We Rationalize Our Slightly Immoral Habits

Dan Ariely is a behavioral economist at Duke, a visiting professor at MIT, and a founding member of the Center for Advanced Hindsight. Ariely has been trying to understand what makes typically moral people cheat and steal. By conducting a series of interesting experiments with human subjects, it turns out that we tend to have a pretty convoluted approach to morality.
